Too Long...

I decided that it's been too long since I last updated, so I am finally getting around to doing so. I've got four finals coming up this week, so I'm going to be pretty busy. Psychology on Monday, Nutrition on Tuesday, Biology on Wednesday, and Chemistry on Thursday. My Psychology final should be pretty easy, because it is all just questions from old tests, word for word. I'm pretty good at memorizing stuff like that so I shouldn't have a hard time of it. I also have another test in that class, which is on the most recent material that we covered. I already read that stuff in the book, and went to every class, so I think I'm pretty much set to roll tomorrow. My Nutrition final is going to be easy because it is just a fourth test, on the latest material that we covered. Biology is the same thing, except that there is some "big" stuff that we previously covered...Basically the stuff that has already been drilled into my head. The only final that I'm really worried about is Chemistry. The tests in that class vary in difficulty quite a bit. Sometimes the test average is a 75, other times it is a 60. I think it's safe for me to say that if I get a 75 on the test I will get a B in the class.

Pete talked me into doing the Colorado State Championships yesterday, even though I haven't ridden my bike in about 3 weeks. I've been lifting weights three days a week and working on my broken toe heeling, so I didn't really know what to expect. I didn't get a chance to preride the course, but I was happy on the first lap when it turned out to be really muddy. I ended up flatting on the first lap and rode my bike to the pit, to find that there were NO campy wheels. Oh well...I guess today wasn't my day. $30 for one lap of suffering...Not my idea of a good value. On the bright side we went to Pete's house in Boulder afterwards and I was able to clean my dirty clothes and hop in a clean hot tub.

On the way back I learned that even though Doritos Munchies look really good nutritionally, with 7 grams of fat (only 1 gram saturated), a ton of complex carbs, and 2 grams of protein, they are, in fact, not. This snack contains monosodium glutomate, which apparently is pretty bad for you. I guess that rules out about 1,000 more things that I won't be eating anytime soon.

On another note, I decided that I'm going to start my base training over Christmas break, rather than waiting until I get back to school. I figure I won't have much to do anyways, so I might as well make the most of the free time that I have. Lucky for me, Christmas falls on a Monday so I won't have to worry about riding. With that in mind, I can't wait to get home for Christmas and enjoy the holidays, without having to worry about school.
