Oops...
What a great day yesterday. Wake up, eat breakfast, work on my bikes, ride for 1.5 hours easy, eat lunch, go golfing, work for 1 hour. If every day could be like that then I wouldn't be too upset. After dinner, I was feeling a little hungry still, so I went down to Murdock's (the local ice cream joint) to get some dessert. So I placed my order and turned around right as this girl was walking up to get her ice cream and boom, I elbowed her right in the chin. I felt so bad, but she didn't seem to be hurt. She was there with a couple of friends and they all seemed to get a big kick out of it. Once I saw that she was OK I decided it would be fine for me to laugh.
I put my cross bike together yesterday. It looks like it's ready to go, I just want to get some wider handlebars for it. I don't know what the biggest size is, but that is the size that I want. I would go for the OS handlebars, but then that would require me to buy a new stem and new levers for the tops, and I don't feel like spending more money than I need to. I figure I'll just go Salem style and keep the smaller diameter bars because they will "give a little more." I was surprised at how light the bike is though, it seems like it's just as light as my road bike.
My mountain bike is in pieces right now, because for some reason I have three left side brake pads and only one right side. How does that happen? The LX brakes don't seem to stop really well so I think I'm going to purchase the Avid SD 7s. I had the SLs before and they worked real nice. They're only about 15 grams lighter than the 7s, so I figure I'll just save a little money. I should probably call the bike shop today and have them order the brakes because it looks like I'm going to be in Mattapoisett (the villa) over the weekend. It should be a lot of fun, hopefully I can convince Ed to come down because it's not like he'll have anything better to do at home.
